Woodlands Assisted Living’s Cape Memory Care community in Cape Elizabeth opened in November 2010 to accolades from Alzheimer's care givers statewide. Licensed as a Level IV Residential Care Facility, Cape Memory Care provides warm, secure and supportive services and special programming for people in the early to middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Cape Memory Care rests on 5 acres in Cape Elizabeth, offering scenic views from many rooms, walking paths and a quiet setting in a residentail area. Designed specificially for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, special consideration was given to features like lighting, colors, and floor design, including a specially designed kitchen where residents participate in activities that evoke memories through smell and activity as they cook and bake. Alzheimer's care includes many home-like activities.
The Cape Memory Care residence employs approximately 50 staffers especially trained in Alzheimer's care and dementia assistance, and is Woodlands Assisted Living’s tenth residential care facility in Maine. The company owns and operates nine other assisted living facilities in Hallowell, Rockland, Waterville, and Brewer.Additional Information
