Most of us want to lead a fruitful life, have a successful career, and earn the respect of others. But most, given the opportunity, would also like to feel that they have made a lasting contribution toward a better world, that their lives have touched others, perhaps for many generations to come?

That small touch of immortality, the quiet satisfaction of helping perpetuate something meaningful, a legacy written in lives changed and people helped is the rich reward enjoyed by the many friends who have made planned gifts for The Salvation Army. These gifts, made during life or through the donor’s estate, have strengthened The Salvation Army’s ability to provide for future generations.

We invite you to explore with us the many ways you can leave your mark on the future of The Salvation Army and through its work on your community, your state, your nation and the world. With proper gift planning, you, your family, and your favorite charities, will be able to benefit from your goodwill. In addition, through gift planning it is possible to receive income for life, reduce taxes and one does not need to be wealthy to make or benefit from a significant planned gift to The Salvation Army. Amy Anderson, Planned Giving Director and Stephanie Chanpimol, Planned Giving Coordinator, are highly experienced in the field of planned giving, they can help you identify the best way to achieve your goals while supporting The Salvation Army’s mission. They will work directly with you, your attorney, and/or advisor as needed. In many cases they can do preliminary work on your gift planning that saves billable attorney or financial planner time, and therefore your money.

About the Salvation Army

Today The Salvation Army’s religious and social-service activities serve millions of men, women and children in more than 120 nations around the world. In the United States The Salvation Army is divided into four territories with each territory having a number of divisions.

The Northern New England Division of the Eastern Territory includes Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The NNE division operates 23 Corps (facilities), mainly in the larger towns or cities. Each Corps offers a range of social services along with organized worship and are supervised by trained officers who proclaim the gospel and serve as administrators, teachers, social workers, counselors, and youth leaders.

In addition, the Army has more than 200 service units in the tri-state region serving smaller and rural communities. A service unit consists of one or two local volunteers who provide basic assistance to those in need, mostly in the form of food and/or clothing vouchers.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
