Sedgewood Commons is a continuum care community located in the beautiful countryside of Falmouth, Maine. We specialize in caring and providing services for people with Alzheimer's or dementia related illness. Our specially designed living areas are secure and provide multiple walking routes for those who enjoy nature and the outdoors. The strength of our programs stem from the relationship we build with our residents and their families. We encourage our residents to be active as possible and remain independent. Within a homelike atmosphere, Sedgewood Commons provides residential, long-term and skilled nursing levels of care using an approach we call Homestead. The care is based on friendship, including knowing the person’s history, doing things together, communicating, building the person’s esteem and reinforcing their value, laughing together and viewing the person as an equal. For an every-day look at our activities, we invite you to view our May 2012 Hawthorne House calendar. Our adult day program, called Today Care, gives day time guests an engaging, supportive community during the daytime hours, and allows them to return to the care of families during the evening. Today Care is offered five days a week.
